PRAYERS FOR THE UNLOCKING OF DESTINIES
1. LORD, PRESERVE MY CAUSE
Psalms 32:8. NIV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
There’s a cause. There is a “way you should go.” You were not born haphazardly. You were meant to be here at this time, regardless of how inconvenient the circumstances of your arrival were. Rape, rejection, born out of wed-lock, born through prostitution, an extra marital affair of a married man, what ever the case; even the sons of Jacob that were born through slave girls were still counted in the blessing of Abraham. The likes of Dan Naphtali Gad Asher. Though rejectable here, you are acceptable to GOD by the blood.
There are battles to be own by you. There are territories heaven is excited that they’ll be occupied by you. It was designed and sealed before you came
You are not an employee, you are a deployee. Heaven is counting on you to
to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
DAVID WAS A SHEPHERD BOY – ANOINTED TO BE KING. IT TOOK YEARS AND ALL SORTS OF TRIALS. BUT HE NOT ONLY SUCCEED IN LIFE BUT THE CROWNING GLORY WAS TO SEE POINTS IN HIS LIFE WHERE HE FULFILLED DESTINY CALLS EVEN WHEN HE WAS UNAWARE OF THE BIGGER PICTURE.
1 Samuel 2:35
I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed one always.
For instance, when David and his men came “home” to Ziklag only to find all their meager belongings burnt to smithereens and their wives and children captured, the situation was so dire, no one could have seen the great victory that lay ahead and its far reaching implications. The immediate and pressing need was to find their loved ones hopefully alive.
The raiders happened to be Amalekites, the enemies that GOD had sworn to Moses that HE would be at war with for generations until they are utterly destroyed. King Saul was given that task but failed and that cost him his kingdom and very life. The kingdom was taken from him when he failed to destroy them and at death, an Amalekites was the one to finish him off in his own sword, if not to be the witness to attest to his demise and bring the crown to David at Ziklag as proof that Saul was indeed gone.
David took courage in and went out to fight the enemy having consulted with GOD. Amalekites were defeated, and the families were rescued. But the greatest thing was that David had just helped fulfill the WORD of the LORD spoken to Moses and Samuel about Amalek.
“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.
Pray that the LORD preserve your destiny
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Pray that the LORD would help you protect the gifts and talents in you
2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
Pray that you may be sensitive to his leading voice
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Pray that destiny robbers would be far removed from you
In righteousness you will be established:
Tyranny will be far from you;
you will have nothing to fear.
Terror will be far removed;
it will not come near you.
2. LORD UNLOCK MY DESTINY – from the destructive patterns of my blood line.
Abraham – Isaac
Some disorders can run through the family line from one generation to the next and even get worse in some instances
Abraham exposed Sarah his wife to a harmful and demeaning situation of calling her his sister just to protect himself. It was fear that escalated to lying, and abdication of the protector / husband role just for self preservation
and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.” Then Abimelek king of Gerar sent for Sarah and took her.
Later, Abraham’s son, Isaac, did exactly the same to his beautiful wife Rebecca
When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.”
David – Solomon
David had married a number of wives while on the run, Solomon joined himself to a thousand, seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines
Eli was a priest of the LORD who had bad boys in his house, unruly, undisciplined with no regard for people or the LORD they were chosen to serve
1 Samuel 2:12
Eli’s sons were scoundrels; they had no regard for the Lord.
You would think that since Samuel was such a Godly man, who in his life time no one could ever point a finger of complaint of any kind!
1 Samuel 12:3
Here I stand. Testify against me in the presence of the Lord and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I accepted a bribe to make me shut my eyes? If I have done any of these things, I will make it right.”
Listen to the collective answer of a nation under GOD
1 Samuel 12:4
“You have not cheated or oppressed us,” they replied. “You have not taken anything from anyone’s hand.”
Surely his children would be different to the order of his day. But alas, Samuel’s role model of a father was none other than Eli, and see what the results were
1 Samuel 8:1-3
When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.
3. LORD LET ME DREAM YET AGAIN –
EVERY DREAM GRAVE SHALL HAVE A RESURRECTION VISITATION.
Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
WHO / WHAT STOLE YOUR DREAM?
The early death / departure of a bread winner in your household
A divorce that left you economically wounded and emotionally paralyzed
Rejection by a father who went astray and abandoned his family duties
A business venture that went sour with all your life savings evaporating into thin air.
An education / qualification that failed to secure the expected employment
A pregnancy that left you stripped of all favor from your relatives and leaders.
Conspiracy that left you scandalized and defamed.
A life threatening disease that sounded like a death sentence the day you got the doctor’s diagnosis.
. . . . And there you saw your dreams of a glorious future buried cold, lifeless – the hope of a brighter day dashed on the stones.
THE LORD SHALL VISIT YOUR DREAMS AGAIN
4. LORD ALIGN MY DESTINY ASSOCIATES
WHO IS PAUL WITHOUT BARNABAS
Saul of Tarsus became a believer, after he had been terrorizing the saints in Christ. Although the church was pleased and greatly encouraged to hear that one who once was its fierce opponent was now preaching the very Gospel he’d sort to destroy, his ministry did not take off. The things he was told he would accomplish seemed so far away for years. Until, Barnabas who was sent by the Apostles from Jerusalem to organize the saints who were experiencing a revival in Antioch, went to Tarsus to collect Paul and reintroduced him to the body. It was from that relational atmosphere that the destiny that The LORD had for Paul Blossomed
A GREAT CALLING THAT NEEDED A MAN TO CONNECT HIM TO HIS DESTINY.
While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
WHO IS TIMOTHY WITHOUT PAUL
A young man who loves the LORD. He has a passion for GOD, he is a Blessing in the little church in Derbe, but his chances in ministry are slim. Although he is such quality material in terms of his Faith in GOD, there are some real challenges that seek to limit and localize him.
The Faith community here in Derbe undermined believers of a mixed race
Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
Pray that GOD would raise you above the dictates of racism. To this day, racism still blinds large sections of our faith communities. The LORD has many gifts, seasoned servants in different places but may never be launched into the greater body to benefit everyone simply because they don’t have the “right accent” or something like that. It takes unusual effort to breakthrough in music and preaching if one’s style is not western refined.
2. LOW SELF ESTEEM
Having grown in a community that looked down on him because he was a “mixed breed”, You can imagine, for a Jewish girl to be impregnated by a gentile Greek. The text does not say that Timothy’s parents were married. He may have been a product of some fling and the stigma did not get any worse.
When “everybody” knows your story, in that sense, it could not be a good one. Bad news have a way of lingering – unregenerate minds like gossip. I can almost hear the small talk whenever young Tim went to the local grocery store, “it’s Eunice’s child the one who had a fall with the Greek hunk.
But listen to Paul uprooting inferiority and replacing it seeds of greatness
1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
LORD, ALIGN MY DESTINY ASSOCIATES.
WHO IS RUTH WITHOUT NAOMI
A cursed, broken, barren widow barely making it through the dry hopeless days. She was a Moabite, a people cursed because they were a product of incest
But when she recognized the power of association thus clinging to Naomi her mother-in-law, her fortunes changed forever.
She was uprooted from idolatry, she found favor with the rich Boaz who ended up being her husband and the silent barrenness of the ten years before. She conceived and bore a son who firmly linked her with the genealogy of the LORD JESUS. Talk of a transformation!
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
WHO IS ESTHER WITHOUT MORDECAI .
An orphaned Jewish girl in a slave land of Babylon. No promise of any hopeful future in the natural – except that she is under a covering of an uncompromising GOD honoring Jewish uncle.
Yes the Book is called Esther – but it could arguably be called the book of Mordecai
Mordecai raises an orphan girl
Mordecai exposes the plot to assassinate the king
Mordecai advises the new new queen Esther
Mordecai suffers the wrath of a spiteful Amalekite called Haman
Mordecai is the “reason” for the plot to annihilate the Jews
Mordecai is the one honored by the king to Haman’s humiliation
Mordecai is promoted from gate keeper to prime minister after the demise of insolent Haman
BUT ESTHER IS REMEMBERED AND HONORED WITH AN ANNUAL HOLIDAY IN ISRAEL
5. LORD PRESERVE MY LIFE FROM THE WATER-LESS PIT
Where battles are being fought over one’s future
As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the water-less pit.
The water-less pit is a holding cell, while battles are being fought over one’s destiny. Joseph was kept there while the brothers argued about what should be done to him
and they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it.
Judah said to his brothers, “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” His brothers agreed.
So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.
Every “holding cell” of the enemy must be broken down, your life must move on! No one has the right to keep you while they “eat” enjoying their lives.
Jeremiah had been warning the people of the impending judgement through the king of Babylon because of the obstinate character of the nation of Israel. The false prophets of the day, wishing to create an impression that all was well and about to change for the better, we’re not impressed with Jeremiah’s warning. They felt that he did not have the interests of Israel at heart
So they took Jeremiah and put him into the cistern of Malkijah, the king’s son, which was in the courtyard of the guard. They lowered Jeremiah by ropes into the cistern; it had no water in it, only mud, and Jeremiah sank down into the mud.
Thank GOD there was a man to speak to the king about this
But Ebed-Melek, a Cushite, an official in the royal palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern. While the king was sitting in the Benjamin Gate, Ebed-Melek went out of the palace and said to him, “My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have thrown him into a cistern, where he will starve to death when there is no longer any bread in the city.”
YOU SHALL NOT FAIL TO HAVE A TIMELY INTERVENTION IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Where battles are being fought over one’s future
WE RECLAIM OUR INFLUENCE OVER THE TOWN, CITIES AND NATIONS
WE RECLAIM OUR FUTURE
WE RECLAIM OUR PROSPERITY
WE RECLAIM OUR PLACE AMONG THOSE WHO ARE SANCTIFIED
A place where the will to live is broken – Jeremiah begged for his life
What about Elijah – his will to live was broken, he gave up – GOD RAISED ELISHA AND
YOU SHALL LIVE LARGE AGAIN!
YOU SHALL LIVE FREE AGAIN!
YOU SHALL FULFILL THE PURPOSE OF YOUR COMING!
IN JESUS NAME!
6. LORD, EXPOSE BAD FRIENDS AROUND ME WITH BAD DOCTRINE AND DEMONIC INFLUENCES
1 Corinthians 15:32-33
If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,
“Let us eat and drink,
for tomorrow we die.”
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
The Apostle Paul was arguing, correcting influences that had crept into?
PRAYERS AGAINST WITCHCRAFT
ITS ALWAYS THOSE WHO ARE BEHIND YOU WHO BACKBITE YOU
HOW TO OVERCOME WITCHCRAFT
BE SECURED IN THE LOVE OF GOD
However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, BECAUSE THE LORD LOVES YOU.
REPEAT THE BLESSING OVER AND OVER AGAIN
But I would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you AGAIN and AGAIN
AND I DELIVERED YOU out of his hand.
Where Blessings are repeated curses break – deliverance abounds
