DANIEL FAST – DAY 17

OUR SURE ADVANTAGES OVER OUR ENEMIES

OUR SURE ADVANTAGES OVER OUR ENEMIES

1.  WHILE THE ENEMY AIMS TO OVERWHELM US WITH TROUBLE – PRAYER DEMOLISHES THE COMPLEXITIES AND RESTORES CALM

Psalms 61:2
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psalms 18:4-6
The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called to the Lord;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.

PRAYER:  Thank you LORD for the privilege of prayer.  We refuse to be overwhelmed by trouble and anxieties.   We trust in you for the dismantling of every diabolical plan to keep us in suspense,  we shall not be overwhelmed.  Our confidence is in the Ancient Of Days!

2.  THE PARADOX OF OUR PROTECTION – WE  ARE VISIBLE TANGIBLE BEINGS YET HIDDEN

Definition of paradox:
A seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may be well founded or true.

Psalms 27:4-5
One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

Psalms 91:1-4
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Colossians 3:2-3 NIV
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

MOSES

The Nile that was meant to swallow the Hebrew boy child was Moses PASSAGE  to the PALACE
When most in danger of crocodiles on the reeds, a baby helplessly crying and oblivious to the dangers that loomed large around.

Politics
Religion
A mothers’ love
A sister’s care

Most safe at the point of our greatest vulnerability.

3.  IN THE MIDDLE OF ANY CRISIS – OUR SIGN THAT HELP IS ON THE WAY SERVES SIMULTANEOUSLY AS A CHILLING SYMBOL OF SURE AND IMPENDING DISASTER FOR OUR ENEMIES.

Philippians 1:27-28 NIV
Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a SIGN TO THEM  that they will be destroyed, BUT that YOU WILL BE SAVED – and that by God.

Philippians 1:28
And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God.

NB:  IT WOULD SEEM
THERE ARE TIMES WHEN GOD SENDS ANGELS TO HELP US – WELL AND GOOD

Hebrews 1:14 NLT
Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.

BUT I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN GOD IS DELIGHTED AND DETERMINED TO DO SOMETHINGS HIMSELF.

E.G.   LIKE AFTER SOME LITTLE SUFFERING

1 Peter 5:10 AMP
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

SO: when things have happened – and have caused some frustrations and suffering,   Stand your ground – GOD is about to show up and show off!

The Hebrew boys seem doomed for gloom
Naturally they are bound and heading for the blazing furnace
All attention is on them
I can almost here the tongues wagging

“Who do they think they are
No one is above the law
Their cheap religion has gone to their heads
This is Babylon – not Jerusalem
Let them face reality – let them face the music
“Die pope sal dance”

Good riddance!
Where are their moral high horses now?!?
What about their supposedly moral high ground
How does being Mr Holy Holy benefit them now -?!?
The posts they were occupying are now vacant – prepare your CVs guys
Where’s their GOD now!
They’ll be ashes in no time
Nothing but cold grey ashes

4.  IN ALL THINGS THE ULTIMATE RESULT WILL ALWAYS BE TO OUR FAVOR THROUGH PRAYER.

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:37 NKJV
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Romans 8:37 AMP
Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

VICTORY IS IN STORE FOR US

Psalms 84:11 AMP
For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

5.  WHEN TRIALS SEEM TO HAVE THE BETTER OF US – GOD’S REINFORCES HOPE THROUGH HIS PRESENCE.

Psalms 34:18-20
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.

6.  THE SURE PROMISE OF HELP IN ALL ADVERSITY IGNITES A GOD HONORING,  devil DEFYING FAITH AND CONFIDENCE

Psalms 46:1-2
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Psalms 119:50 AMP
This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has
revived me and given me life.

Psalms 119:50 NIV
My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.

Psalms 119:50 NLT
Your promise revives me;
it comforts me in all my troubles.

8.  WHEN THE TROUBLE IS GREAT EVEN GREATER IS OUR HELP AND TESTIMONY.

2 Kings 6:15-17
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Isaiah 59:19 KJV
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
