JESUS – OUR HIGH PRIEST IN THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK
Father Abraham meets with an interesting figure in his return from rescuing Lot. He sure had prayed and made some serious promises to GOD on his way to the war zone. In a fit that is nothing short of a miracle, Abraham rescues Lot and the kings of sodom, and in keeping with his pledge to GOD he refuses any compensation for his services, citing his resolve to avoid any tongues wagging that they were the reason for his prosperity.
“Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.”
But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven” and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, “I have made Abram rich’— except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.”
It was after this riveting account of GOD riding on the confidence of HIS servant to bring victory that we are introduced to Melchizedek. Unmistakably peculiar is his list of credentials.
“This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!”
Notable among these are:
That he had no beginning or ending of days
He is king of Salem
He is Priest of the Most High
Jesus is our Melchizedek. He has no beginning and no end. He is our great High Priest standing before the Father to intercede for us. He is the Prince of Peace.
1. Give thanks for the love of GOD demonstrated to us in sending the LORD JESUS to die in our place.

3. Give thanks that he lives and receives our tithes.
4. Give thanks that your eyes are open by revelation to see and receive HIM.
5. Pray that truth of HIS Priesthood and intercession for you should not fizzle out because of neglect and forgetfulness.
